With over 25 years in the fitness industry, Zak has helped people at every stage of life feel stronger, healthier and more confident.At Shaded Fitness, his focus is simple: a welcoming space where real people build strength, mobility and long-term health. Whether you want more energy, to stay active as you age, or to finally feel good in your own skin, Zak will guide you with coaching that’s both challenging and achievable.Since opening Shaded Fitness, he’s worked with hundreds of Newbury locals on their journey to a stronger, happier life.

NIC MAYNARD

Vitality
& Nutrition Coach

Nic has been active her whole life, from ballet and tap to swimming and nearly 25 years on wheels with roller dance. She stepped into the gym at 16 and never looked back. With a degree in Diet and Health and further fitness qualifications, Nic leads our Vitality 60+ coaching, blending smart strength work, mobility and confidence-building with practical nutrition. She loves learning, lifting and guiding our members especially our Vitality crew, to stronger bodies, better energy and long-term wellness, making health the number one priority, not an afterthought.

ETHAN NEWCOMBE

HYROX
PERFORMANCE COACH

Ethan is the engine behind HYROX at Shaded Fitness. Younger in years but seriously knowledgeable, he’s HYROX-qualified and has taken on multiple HYROX events himself, so he knows exactly what it takes to get you from first session to finish line. His coaching style is clear, technical and encouraging, helping you move well, pace smart and build the engine you need for race day. Whether you’re HYROX-curious or chasing a new PB, Ethan’s job is to make the training tough, structured and surprisingly fun.
